14 Jun Incontro sistemi Agroforestali
Today’s meeting, organised by the CREA as part of the activities financed by the National Rural Network, was a great success in terms of attendance and above all, for the quality and the depth of the interventions that characterised the first part of the day.
The first to take the podium was Dr. Mauro Sangiovanni, who explained the reasons why Casaria has taken the path of agroforestry, and the benefits of this choice in terms of crops. Other speakers were Luca Cesaro (CREA PB – RDP measures for developing agroforestry systems in Italy); Giustino Mezzalira and Federico Correale (Veneto Agricoltura – Agroforestry systems: experiences in Veneto); Alberto Mantino (Scuola superiore Sant’Anna – Agroforestry systems in Tuscany: initial experiences at the E. Avanzi S. Piero Agri-environmental Research Centre in Grado PI), Francesco Pelleri, Gianni Facciotto, Pier Mario Chiarabaglio, Gaetano Castro (CREA FL – Tree plantation in rows: potential difficulties in planting and technological characteristics of the timber produced); Paolo Mori (CdF – Planning rows with an App: the InBioWood experience); Antonio Brunori (PEFC – Short supply line and certification of agroforestry systems); Pierluigi Paris and Andrea Pisanelli (CNR IBAF), Gianni Facciotto (CREA FL) – Agroforestry systems in Casaria: ongoing experimentation.
The second part of the meeting saw inspections, in the field, of the type of system and its results, which we should point out, have brought substantial benefits to crops in progress as well as to the whole ecosystem of our company.
The commitment of the organisers was greatly rewarded by the great interest shown and the praise we received at the end of the visit.
